Choose Your Power is an industrial metal band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band is the product of singer/songwriter Brian Keane. He mostly played bass in various bands and then started experimenting with guitar and self recording in the early 2000's. In the begining days CYP records were recorded using a boss Dr.Rhythm drum machine, a 25 watt Fender Frontman, and Cakewalk recording software out of a studio apartment. The neighbors were probably wondering why yelling and screaming was coming from behind his apartment door. The recording ethos has not changed much over the years but the gear, musical ideas and arrangements have steadily progressed. The lyrical content has always been a pro human consciousness expansion in the midst of a Terminator like dystopian future which is upon us now. A guitar riffing style born from the influence of the thrash metal era combined with a love for hard hitting industrial and underground hip hop bands blend to forge the Choose Your Power style.
